Terms of service
These terms describe how the Audio DSP Hub reference may be read and quoted. By using the desk you accept them. They are written to be readable, and where a term is unusual it is explained rather than left to implication.
What the desk is
Audio DSP Hub is an independent editorial reference on engineering acoustics: spectral analysis, restoration, number formats, non-destructive graphs and loudness delivery. It is published by the editorial desk in Chicago. It is a reading resource, not a service counter, and it does not take in recordings or quote work.
Permitted reading and quotation
You may read every page, store a link, and quote short passages in teaching notes, technical writing or a review, provided the quotation is accurate and the desk is named as the source. A quotation must not be edited in a way that changes its meaning, and a table must not be reproduced in part in a way that drops the conditions attached to the figures. Whole-article reproduction, whether in print or on a network, needs written permission from the desk first.
Automated bulk collection of the reference is not permitted, because it places load on a small editorial operation and because the figures here are offered with context that bulk collection removes. If you need a measurement for scholarly work, ask the desk and a citable form will be supplied.
Accuracy and limits
The figures in this reference are provided as engineering starting points. Audio work depends on the recording, the room and the delivery outlet, so a value that suits one session may be wrong for the next. The desk checks what it publishes and corrects errors when they are shown, but it does not warrant that any figure suits a particular purpose, and it is not liable for a decision taken on the strength of a page.
No product distribution
Nothing on this desk is offered for acquisition. There are no files to take, no codes to redeem, and no media assets to collect. Where a product name appears, it appears only to identify the object of a technical comparison, and the desk hosts no copies of anything belonging to a third party. Requests for product files, activation material or media assets fall outside the desk's work.
Third-party names
Names of audio environments, formats and standards belong to their respective owners and are used here only to identify the objects, under nominative fair use, to identify what is being discussed. Their appearance does not imply any affiliation, sponsorship or approval, and the desk is not connected to any of the organisations it compares.
Availability and changes
The desk aims to stay reachable, but it is a small operation and cannot promise uninterrupted access. Pages may be revised, rearranged or retired as the reference is maintained. A material change to these terms is published on this page with an updated revision date, and continued reading after that date counts as acceptance of the revised text.
