Editorial & legal
Privacy policy
This page explains what the Audio DSP Hub editorial desk holds when you read the reference or send a note, and what it does with that material. It is written in plain terms and applies to every page under this desk.
What is held when you read
Reading a page does not require a name, an address or a sign-in. A short-lived session marker may be placed in your browser to remember the reading preferences of a single visit, such as an open question in the FAQ. That marker carries no name and no history; it expires when the visit ends, and it cannot be used to follow you to another site.
The desk does not build a reading profile, does not run interest-based advertising, and does not maintain a cross-site identifier. Where a hosting provider records ordinary server activity to keep the service running, that record is held by the provider under its own policy, is used for availability and abuse handling, and is not joined to anything the desk writes.
What is held when you write
If you send a note through the contact form or by post, the desk holds the name you give, the reply address you give, the text of the note, the page it refers to, and the date it arrived. That material is used for one purpose: to answer the question and, where a correction is applied, to keep a dated change note. A reply address is never shared beyond the editor handling the thread, and it is never published.
Correspondence is kept only for as long as it takes to resolve the question, and no longer than twenty-four months from the last reply. A correction change note is kept as part of the article record, because a reader is entitled to see what was revised and when.
Sharing
The desk does not sell, rent or trade correspondence. Material is shared only where it is necessary to answer the question and only with the editor who owns the relevant channel group. Where a source request needs a measurement from a collaborating archive, the desk asks your permission first and names the party before anything is passed on.
Your choices
You may ask what the desk holds about your correspondence, ask for a copy, or ask for it to be removed. Write to the desk with the reply address you used originally so the thread can be found, and the request will be answered within thirty days. Removing a thread does not remove a published correction note, which is part of the article record and carries no personal detail.
Because the reference is read without a sign-in, there is no account to close and no password to change. Clearing your browser storage removes the short-lived session marker described above.
Changes to this policy
If the way the desk handles material changes, this page is revised and the revision date is updated at the foot of the page. A change that widens what is held will be described in a short summary at the top, so a returning reader does not have to compare the two texts line by line. Questions about this policy go to the editorial desk, or to [email protected].
